The Book
WOMRATS
This book is dedicated to my sons and sisters — both my biological sisters and my soul sisters.
This is the story of female friends and characters who are capable climbers, kayakers, travelers and skiers trying to navigate rivers, mountains and unavailable men.
These women are exploring nature, the world and are striving to reach self awareness.
The struggle to survive the outdoors, explore western living and finding love are the themes.
The book exposes the excitement of outdoor life, and the harsh reality and anxiety of not finding an available partner.
The outdoor adventures and mishaps mirrors the inner emotional conflicts of the women and their wildly different spiritual paths.
“So that stream, that running stream, which is the running stream of time, the River Ganges, the River Liffey, the River Jordan, whatever river you want becomes symbolic of the flow of time. And so it’s given commonly a feminine name. And when you go into the river in Baptism, and come out again, it’s like going into the mother womb and coming out in rebirth. The water is the Goddess.”
